Collage & Cut-Out Animation
I combine photographs, textures, type and cut-out imagery into layered compositions. Movement, scale and compositing can turn separate assets into a playful sequence with a deliberately handmade character.
Independent 2D animator · Barcelona / Remote
My 2D animation services turn ideas, images and supplied brand material into story-led visual sequences. I work directly with brands and creatives on collage, cut-out and stop-motion-inspired animation, as well as animated elements that can live inside a wider video project.
Ideas in motion
Animation can make an abstract point visible, connect separate pieces of information or give a story a visual language of its own. I start with the purpose of the sequence, then choose a technique that suits the material and the feeling it needs to create.
That may mean layered collage for an editorial look, frame-by-frame movement for a tactile rhythm or animated graphic elements within live-action footage. The style grows from the brief and available assets rather than from a fixed package.
Formats
I combine photographs, textures, type and cut-out imagery into layered compositions. Movement, scale and compositing can turn separate assets into a playful sequence with a deliberately handmade character.
Individually prepared images can be arranged into frame-by-frame movement for a tactile, rhythmic result. This approach suits material that benefits from visible texture and a less polished, more physical feel.
Short animated sequences can introduce a subject, explain a step or give social and web content a recognisable visual moment. The dimensions and duration are agreed for the intended placement.
Supplied graphics, type and visual assets can be animated and composited into an existing edit. I use motion to connect the material, guide attention and keep the sequence consistent with the agreed brand direction.
Selected work
These projects show the visual techniques at the centre of my 2D animation practice.
Collage & cut-out
I created this 2D collage animation showreel with After Effects and Photoshop, combining layered imagery, movement and compositing into a sequence built around cut-out visual language.
Frame-by-frame
This frame-by-frame photo animation was created from individually cut and layered images. Editing and compositing bring collage-style movement and stop-motion aesthetics together in one tactile piece.
After Effects animation
I created the After Effects animation used in a strain-report format with an AI-generated voice-over. The animation became part of an automated workflow that produced more than 500 videos; it was not 500 individually hand-animated pieces.
The approach
Collage and cut-out animation work well when the project needs layered imagery, texture and an editorial character. Frame-by-frame movement gives still material a more tactile pulse, while simpler animated graphics are useful when information or brand elements need to sit clearly inside a video.
I choose the approach with you after reviewing the idea, references, available assets and intended placement. A custom 2D animation can also combine techniques when the transition between live action, type and imagery is part of the story.
From brief to final files
My 2D animation production process begins with your idea, intended audience, duration, placement and examples of visual work you respond to. We define the purpose of the sequence and the practical boundaries of the project.
I review the supplied images, graphics, type and brand material, then establish a visual direction for the agreed technique. Any additional asset preparation is included in the scope before animation begins.
I build the movement, timing and compositing around the chosen direction. You review the work and send consolidated feedback so the agreed refinements stay connected to the original brief.
I prepare the approved animation in the dimensions and delivery format agreed for the project. Requirements for integration into a wider edit are clarified before the final export.
Direct collaboration
As an independent 2D animator, I combine video editing, animation and storytelling, so I consider how each animated moment works within the larger sequence rather than treating it as decoration. My selected work includes collage, frame-by-frame imagery, compositing and motion-led brand content created with After Effects and Photoshop. You work with me directly throughout the project, with remote collaboration from Barcelona in English, Spanish or Russian.
Client feedback
Direct collaboration, a clear process and an edit that keeps the original voice of the project.
Before we start
The quote depends on the technique, duration, number of scenes, available assets, sound requirements and agreed review scope. Send me your concept and references so I can assess the work before confirming a price.
My selected work includes collage and cut-out animation, frame-by-frame photo movement, compositing and animated graphic elements. We choose the technique after looking at your idea, available material and intended format.
Potentially, yes. Send the files, usage permissions and a reference for the movement you have in mind. I will review whether the available assets and formats are suitable before we agree the scope.
You can begin with an idea, a short brief and visual references. We will decide whether the project needs a storyboard or another form of visual plan, and include that responsibility in the agreed scope.
Timing depends on the style, duration, number of scenes, asset preparation and review process. I confirm a schedule after reviewing the material and defining the work rather than applying one turnaround to every animation.
Yes. My practice covers both video editing and 2D animation, so an agreed project can combine live-action footage with collage, animated type or graphic sequences where that supports the story.
Get in touch
Send me the concept, intended format, approximate duration and any visual references on WhatsApp. I will ask a few practical questions so we can agree the scope, price and timing before animation starts.
I’ll reply and ask a few questions about the idea, format, duration and available assets. We’ll agree the scope, price and timing before animation starts.
